African Safari Adventure
Journey with John Bytheway and Bountiful Travel on an African Safari. Enjoy time in Kenya visiting an elephant orphanage, the Nairobi temple and Nairobi National Park. Visit a game reserve and see all of the amazing animals. Visit Lake Naivasha to see the hippos. Visit Lake Nakuru National Park and enjoy the wildlife. Fly to Mombasa and relax on the beach and see the 16th century city sights. John will share insights as you explore Africa with our adventurous LDS group.
Day 1 · ✈ Travel · Fly to Nairobi, Kenya
Fly from your home to Nairobi, Kenya.
Day 2 : Nairobi, Kenya
Arrive in Nairobi at the Jomo Knyatta International Airport where you are met and transferred to our hotel. (D)
Day 3 : Nairobi, Kenya
We begin to explore the sights of Nairobi. There is much to see here. We go to the Karen Blixen Museum, home of the author of "Out of Africa." We visit the Giraffe Center and the Elephant Orphanage. Overnight in Nairobi.(B,L,D)
Day 4 : Nairobi, Kenya
Today we go on our first game safari. We head into Nairobi National Park which we have only seen from our hotel. We enjoy spotting the amazing giraffes, zebras, rhinos and so forth. We visit the Kenya Temple grounds and learn more about the church in Kenya. We enjoy dinner together at the home of a Kenyan family. Overnight in Nairobi. (B,L,D)
Day 5 : Lake Naivasha
All too soon it is time to leave the game reserve behind. We load up our bags and drive to lake Naivasha. Here we take a short boat ride to see the hippos. We visit Crescent Island and get to walk with the wild animals. We drive to our lodgings on Lake Nukuru. (B,L,D)
Day 6 : Lake Nakuru
We spend the day on safari in Lake Nakuru National Park. The scenery is stunning and the animals abound. We enjoy time in the afternoon to enjoy our lodge before heading out on another game drive. We overnight at Lake Nukuru. (B,L,D)
Day 7 : Masai Mara Game Reserve
This morning we pack our bags and head to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. It is quite a trek, but we are there in time for lunch. After lunch we head out on afternoon game drive. We spend the evening relaxing at our accommodations in the Masa Mara. (B,L,D)
Day 8 : Masai Mara Game Reserve
Today is filled with more game drive adventures. We have both a morning and an afternoon drive. You will be closer to these animals then you ever imagined. Those who are interested may pay an additional fee and get up early for a hot air balloon ride which shows you the animals from above. Overnight in the Masai Mara. (B,L,D)
Day 9 : Mombasa, Africa
Today we travel to Mombasa. We admire the vibrant, narrow streets of Mombasa and the captivating architecture on our way to our beachfront hotel. We overnight in Mombasa. (B,L,D)
Day 10 : Mombasa, Africa
Mombasa is ours for the day. We enjoy shopping, beaches, swimming pools and relaxing. We overnight in Mombasa. (B,L,D)
Day 11 : Nairobi/Fly Home
Today we bid farewell to our beloved Kenya. We return to Nairobi. We are taken to the airport where we catch our late night flights home.
Day 12 · ✈ Travel · Arrive Home
Arrive home.
