Main trip
Day 1 : Reykjavik, Iceland
There's a good reason that Iceland is considered a photographer's dream destination. Its terrain is visually stunning, offering views of lava flows, hot springs, unspoiled nature – and colorful, fascinating cities like Reykjavik. The world's most northerly capital brings together quaint villages, exciting museums, a flourishing music scene and restaurants that rival Europe's finest. If you are not joining us for our pre-cruise tour, meet up with us aboard the ship.
Day 2 : Isafjordur, Iceland
We head directly to the Dynjandi Waterfall. This waterfall is a majestic icon of the Westfjords. It is a series of seven waterfalls falling like a bridal veil from the edge of a cliff. On our way to the Dynjandi Waterfall, we enjoy the breathtaking coastal vistas of jagged fjords, towering cliffs and lush rolling valleys. Upon arrival at the waterfall, we have some time to take a short hike to the base of the falls. As we make our way back to the port, we stop at a charming sheep farm along the Dyrafjordur coastline. Here we learn about Iceland's rural life and agricultural history. We see up close the well-preserved turf houses and barns. We enjoy a traditional Icelandic treat before continuing our journey to our ship. Price - $300
Day 3 : Akureyri, Iceland
We spend time in the Lake Mývatn area. Some consider this the most beautiful place in Iceland. Highlights of today include the Goðafoss Waterfall, Skútustaðagígar Pseudo Craters, Dimmuborgir Lava Formations and Earth Lagoon Mývatn. Godafoss plays an important role in Icelandic history and the introduction of Christianity. We see the warm underground river in Grjótagjá Rift. This is where the rift between the Eurasian and American Continents is visible. We visit the Mt. Krafla volcano area. For an additional cost you can bring your bathing suits and relax in the Mývatn Nature Baths. Towels are included in the price. Those not entering the baths can take a stroll along a nature path or visit a local grocery store to pick up some snacks. Tour Price - $200 per person

Day 5 : Alesund, Norway
We start off with a visit to the Stavkirke Ørskog Church which has been in operation since 1873. This congregation existed for many centuries previously, but the church itself was built in 1873. We visit the picturesque valley of Valldal which is known for its fruit and beautiful alpine mountains. We go to Tafjord which is a village located on the end of the Tajforden. We stop and see the Gudbrandsjuvet waterfall. Our tour includes a journey along the Trollstigen, a serpentine mountain road. Throughout the day we make many stops to allow for photos and the opportunity to soak in the beautiful landscapes. Tour Price - $280 per person, lunch included
Day 6 : Måløy, Norway
Måløy offers unique features such as Kannesteinen and a a historic lighthouse. You explore this port on your own. No group tour is offered by Bountiful Travel on this day.
Day 7 : Stavanger, Norway
Today we experience the stunning fjord landscapes for which Norway is famous. Enjoy waterfalls, fjords, steep mountains and picturesque coastal towns from a small RIB boat. We travel to the very back of the Lysefjorde and marvel at the beauties of nature. Some of the highlights include Pulpit Rocky, Whisky Falls and the mysterious Vagabond Cave. We might even see some seals. If time and weather permit, we have a chance to walk on the shore for a little bit. We return to the harbor and our cruise ship. Tour Price: $230 per person

Day 9 : Amsterdam (Ijmuiden), Netherlands
Our adventure begins at the port of Ijmuiden, located outside of Amsterdam. We visit a traditional windmill and get to learn more about how it works. We enjoy a presentation on the making of cheese and the traditional wooden clogs. We have time in the picturesque city of Volendam where you can find food and opportunities for shopping. We go to the small village of Marken and feel the authentic island atmosphere. Experience a very small part of Amsterdam as we stroll along, but look out for the bicyclists. Pedestrians do not have the right of way here. Our guide shares the history of Amsterdam as we walk to our canal boat. We board the boat and enjoy a guided tour of the canals of Amsterdam. We learn all about the unique houseboats and other watercraft as well as the unique aspects of the architecture of the buildings found along the waterway. Following our boat ride we head back to our cruise ship. Price - $150 per person
Day 10 : Brussels/Bruges (Zeebrugge), Belgium
Today there is no official tour. However, those who wish, can join the Bountiful Travel group on the same coach as we travel to Bruges, a city considered one of the historic gem cities of Belgium. This medieval city has been declared UNESCO World Heritage sites. You may wish to enjoy a boat ride on the city's narrow canals and learn more about the history of the area. Belgian waffles and chocolate are available here. You are responsible for any costs incurred today, including the many pounds of Belgian chocolate you buy. Although it is hard to leave, we catch the shuttle bus back to the port.
Day 11 : London, England
Optional 2-night post-cruise tour of London is available. We attend church with a local congregation.
London and early church history post-cruise tour
Post-cruise Day 1 : Southampton - Church - Hampton Court Palace
Our cruise ship arrives in Southampton and we disembark. Our LDS guide, Peter Fagg meets us and shows us some sites in Southampton including the Mayflower Memorial. Then we attend sacrament meeting. Following sacrament meeting, we head to Runnymede. Here we learn more about the Magna Carta and its influence on international affairs. We visit Hampton Court Palace and admire the Tudor and Baroque architecture. We head to London and check into our hotel.
Post-cruise Day 2 : London
London is a remarkable city and today we try to give you a sampling of its many layers. After a nod of recognition to the British influence on the Louisiana Purchase, we begin at the top of the social pyramid with a photo stop outside Buckingham Palace and hear Queen Victoria’s impression of our early missionaries and vice versa. We continue our journey south of the River Thames where, as we follow the footsteps of Wilford Woodruff, Heber C. Kimball and George A.Smith, we also uncover Charles Dickens and the Mormons, John Lathropp and the clink, and Shakespeare and the Globe.
We cross the Thames (on a bridge destroyed by dementors!) and ascend to the majestic St. Paul’s Cathedral. A walk around the precincts of St Paul’s (we don’t go in) will awe you with its famous dome and impressive architecture. Our coach delivers us to Bunhill Fields - this famous non conformist burial ground is the burial place of many notable non conformists and is a sacred spot. Across the street is the Wesley home and tabernacle - the UK Methodist equivalent of Temple square in Salt Lake City or the Vatican in Rome. Wilford Woodruff visited here and recorded some frustrated feelings, and Brigham Young also paid his respects here.
We learn of George Whitefield, his Tabernacle and Tabernacle Square and witness the first opening for the first LDS missionaries to London. We learn of the tender mercies that allowed them to gain their first London converts.
We finish the day with a river cruise from the
Tower to Westminster Pier where we walk on to Parliament Square for
great views of the iconic Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, and Westminster
Abbey.
If time permits, those who wish may take in the Evensong at Westminster Abbey and make their own way back to our hotel. The rest of the group will be taken back to our London hotel.
Post-cruise Day 3 : London Airport - Flight Home
Today you make your own way to the London airport for your flight home. U.S. residents arrive home later this afternoon.

The Norwegian Prima anchors NCL's newest class of ship around Ocean Boulevard — a walkway that wraps the full deck, ringed with lounges, seating, and an open view of the water on every side. Dining ranges from Cagney's Steakhouse and Le Bistro to Onda by Scarpetta and the Indulge Food Hall's many stations. Shows fill the three-story Prima Theater, and the Mandara Spa adds a two-story waterfall, salt rooms, and a thermal suite for quieter afternoons. With fewer guests than the mega-ships, it stays easy to keep our group together and find room for good conversation.

Barbara Morgan Gardner
Barbara Morgan Gardner is an associate professor of Church History and Doctrine at Brigham Young University. Her research focuses on women in religious leadership, international education in Latin America, and religious pedagogy. She authored The Priesthood Power of Women in the Temple, Church, and Family and co-hosted BYUtv's Come Follow Up series (2019-2021). She holds a PhD in instructional psychology, a master's degree in educational leadership and foundations with emphasis in international education development, and completed postdoctoral work at Harvard University in higher education adm…
