IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to the nature of this tour you must be able to climb stairs and walk unassisted at a moderate pace. You will walk 4-7 miles per day.

Day 1 : Athens (Piraeus), Greece

If you did not sign up with Bountiful Travel for the pre-cruise tour, meet up with us onboard the ship.

Day 2 : Kavala, Greece

May 15, 2027 (Saturday)

Our journey takes us to the ancient city of Philippi. Full tour description coming soon. Price: TBD

Day 3 : Thessaloniki, Greece

May 16, 2027 (Sunday)

Our explorations today include many places the apostle Paul was known to have been as well as some traditional locations. Sites may include the Vlatadon Monastery, Church of St. Demetrius, and the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki. Actual tour description will appear here when it is available. Price: TBD

Day 4 : At Sea

Day 5 : Mykonos, Greece

May 18, 2027 (Tuesday)

Mykonos is a charming town with much to explore on your own. You can walk through the narrow streets in search of something tasty or shop for the perfect souvenir. The iconic windmills are also great for a photo stop.

Day 6 : Rhodes, Greece

May 19, 2027 (Wednesday)

You can spend the day imagining what this area must have been like during its peak. Explore Mandraki Old Harbor, where, according to tradition, the Colossus of Rhodes once stood. Visit the village and acropolis of Lindos. Full tour description will be posted when available. Tour Price: TBD

Day 7 : Ephesus (Kusadasi), Turkey

May 20, 2027 (Thursday)

Our tour takes us to one of the most impressive archaeological sites in the world, Ephesus. We tour the terrace houses that are part of the Ephesus site. We see the Odeon, the marble street where Paul held daily discussions, the Library of Celcus, the Temple of Hadrian and the great theater. We spend several hours strolling through this site. Following this we board the bus for a quick photo stop at the Artemision or Temple of Artemis. We return to the port at Kusadasi and you have the option of remaining on land for shopping or boarding the ship and relaxing. Tour Price: $TBD

Day 8 : Santorini, Greece

May 21, 2027 (Friday)

We are picked up from the old port of Fira where we take a water taxi to Athinios port and our bus. We enjoy a guided walk through the quiet, picturesque village of Magalochori. Following our visit we drive to Profitis Ilias. the highest point on the island, for a scenic photo stop. Our next stop takes us to the Monolithos Black Beach (no swimming) where we have a short time to enjoy the water and beach. We then journey to Oia, the northern most village where we see the classic blue domed buildings, the ruins of a Venetian castle and admire the breathtaking view over the caldera. We have time on our own to explore or eat. We take in any sights we might have missed as we enjoy the journey back to the port. Tour Price: TBD

Headliners

Scott C. Esplin is a professor of Church History and Doctrine at Brigham Young University, where he has taught since 2006. A native of southern Utah, he taught seminary for six years before completing masters and doctoral degrees at BYU and joining the faculty of Religious Education. He is the author of numerous books and articles on the Doctrine and Covenants and Church history, including an award-winning book on the restoration of Nauvoo. He specializes in religious tourism, pilgrimage, and twentieth century Church history. Dr. Esplin taught for a year at the BYU Jerusalem Center and has also led study abroad groups to Latter-day Saint historic sites. He and his wife Janice are the parents of four children.
