Explore the highlights of Iceland, Norway, and more with John as your guide. Built on islands extending into the sea, Ålesund’s scenic views of fjords and the Sunnmore Alps is accented by the unique Jugend-style architecture. A memorable highlight of our tour in Ísafjörđur allows us to take an inside look into the lives of the locals at the Hversdagssafn Museum of Everyday Life. See a 100’ geysir and Gullfoss Waterfall as we travel the Golden Circle in Reykjavik. Sailing with Brent and our adventurous LDS group will create memories to last a lifetime!

Join us for our 2-night pre-cruise tour of the highlights in London and early church history.

Day 1 – June 19, 2025: Depart from the United States on an overnight flight to London Heathrow Airport.

Day 2 – June 20, 2025: Arrive in London ready to begin our tour. We meet up with our LDS guide at the airport and load our baggage onto the coach. We check into the hotel and return to the coach ready to explore. We see the inspiring sites such as Buckingham Palace, Albert Memorial and the Great Exhibition of 1851 monument. We learn about the experiences of early church missionaries such as Heber C. Kimball and Lorenzo Snow. We walk down Exhibition Road to the Hyde Park chapel. Our guide tells us about the how the church acquired this property. We have a free evening to spend as we like.

Day 3 – June 21, 2025: Today we visit Parliament Square and find the four pillars of English society. We have an opportunity to take photos of Westminster Abbey and Big Ben. We learn about important events that took place here during the reformation. We take a walking tour in Southwark following in the footsteps of Wilford Woodruff, Heber C. Kimball and George A. Smith. We also uncover Charles Dickens, John Lathropp and the clink and Shakespeare’s Globe Theater. We cross the Thames (on a bridge destroyed by Death Eaters!) and walk around St. Paul’s Cathedral. We drive to Bunhill Fields, the famous non-conformist burial ground. We visit Tabernacle Square and learn of George Whitefield. We visit the British Museum with an emphasis on the Biblical artifacts there. Here we have options – stay and explore the museum further and make your own way back to the hotel, go to Leicester Square ideal for souvenir shopping or more exploration and make your own way back to the hotel, or those who are done for the day can have the coach take them directly back to the hotel. Breakfast included.

Day 4 – June 22, 2025: Meet in the lobby with your bags and dressed for church. We attend sacrament meeting with a Southampton ward. Following church, we will enjoy a bit of time seeing the city of Southampton. We learn about those who sailed on the Mayflower. Then, we board our ship for a cruise of our own.

Day 1 – July 3, 2025: Disembark the ship and load your luggage onto the bus. Today is packed full of sights along the south coast of Iceland.  Imagine the feeling of standing behind the Seljalandsfoss Waterfall as mist dampens your face. Stroll along the Reynisfjara Beach and admire the black sand and intriguing rock formations. We stop in Vik which is a remote seafront village. Our day’s journey ends on the far south eastern coast of Iceland. Here we overnight and await with eager anticipation the experiences of tomorrow.

Day 2 – July 4, 2025: We enjoy more of the amazing beauty of Iceland as we head to the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon where we admire the fascinating icebergs floating before us. We make our way to Diamond Beach known for its striking black sand and glistening icebergs. If you know where to look, you might spot puffins nesting above you in the rocks.  We stop at the Skógafoss Waterfall. Enjoy just a short, easy stroll from the coach or you can climb the steep stairs for a view from the top. We continue to Keflavik and our hotel. We overnight here and prepare for our flights home tomorrow.

Day 3 – July 5, 2025: Make your own way to the Reykjavik-Keflavik Airport for your flight home.

If you are not joining us on the pre-cruise tour, meet up with us onboard the ship.

Day 2 : Brussels/Bruges (Zeebrugge), Belgium

June 23, 2025 (Monday)

Today you are on your own. You may wish to visit one of the cities considered historic gem cities of Belgium, Bruges or Ghent. These medieval cites have been declared UNESCO World Heritage sites. Stroll through Ghent and see St. Bavo's Cathedral, the City Hall and St. Nicholas' Church. You might choose to enjoy a boat ride on the cities' narrow canals and learn more about the history of the cities.

Day 3 : Amsterdam, Netherlands

June 24, 2025 (Tuesday)

Experience a small part of Amsterdam as we stroll along, but look out for the bicyclists. Pedestrians do not have the right of way here. Our guide shares the history of Amsterdam as we walk to our canal boat. We board the boat and enjoy a guided tour of the canals of Amsterdam. We learn all about the unique houseboats and other watercraft as well as the unique aspects of the architecture of the buildings found along the waterway. Following our boat ride we head out to the countryside. Here we see the classic traditional windmills. We visit the historic town of Edam and enjoy its adorable homes and fairy tale canals. We enjoy lunch at a farm where we learn about the making of the traditional Dutch wooden clogs and sample some delicious cheeses. All too soon we head back to our cruise ship. Lunch is included. June 26, 2025 (Thursday)

We experience the stunning landscape for which Norway is famous. We see waterfalls, fjords, steep mountains and fruit orchards. We get up close to two breathtaking waterfalls including the chance walk behind one of them. These falls include Fosen Bratte and Steindalsfossen. We travel along one of Norway's 18 scenic driving routes and are brought alongside the majestic Hardangerfjord, the fifth longest fjord in the world. We are free to wander the streets of Norheimsund, one of the fishing villages. Our tour includes a light snack for us to enjoy as we travel. We return to Bergen and enjoy time on our own to try local food, shop or just stroll through the city. Price: $250 per person when paying by check or ACH, light snack included

Day 6 : Geiranger, Norway

June 27, 2025 (Friday)

We spend the afternoon exploring the Highlights and the natural wonders of the Geirangerfjord. Geiranger is nestled inside the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Geirangerfjord. We enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking this beautiful area. We drive through the Norwegian countryside stopping often to take photos and to admire the views. We see glaciers and perhaps some wildlife. The jagged sea cliffs, pine-covered valleys and iridescent waters in this area served as an inspiration for Frozen. Lunch is included. Tour Price: $140 per person when paying by check or ACH

Day 7 : Alesund, Norway

June 28, 2025 (Saturday)

We start off with a visit to the Stavkirke Ørskog Church which has been in operation since 1873. This congregation existed for many centuries previously, but the church itself was built in 1873. We visit the picturesque valley of Valldal which is known for its fruit and beautiful alpine mountains. We go to Tafjord which is a village located on the end of the Tajforden. We stop and see the Gudbrandsjuvet waterfall. Our tour includes a journey along the Trollstigen, a serpentine mountain road. Throughout the day we make many stops to allow for photos and the opportunity to soak in the beautiful landscapes. Tour Price: $160 per person when paying by check or ACH, lunch included

June 30, 2025 (Monday)

We spend time in the Lake Mývatn area. Some consider this the most beautiful place in Iceland. Highlights of today include the Goðafoss Waterfall, Skútustaðagígar Pseudo Craters, Dimmuborgir Lava Formations and Mývatn Nature Baths. Godafoss plays an important role in Icelandic history and the introduction of Christianity. We see the warm underground river in Grjótagjá Rift. This is where the rift between the Eurasian and American Continents is visible. We visit the Mt. Krafla volcano area. For an additional $65 you can bring your bathing suits and relax in the Mývatn Nature Baths. Towels are included in the price. Those not entering the baths can take a stroll around the baths or enjoy a leisurely lunch on their own. Price $210 per person when paying by check or ACH and $65 for the optional nature baths.

Day 10 : Isafjordur, Iceland

July 1, 2025 (Tuesday)

We head directly to the Dynjandi Waterfall. This waterfall is a majestic icon of the Westfjords. It is a series of seven waterfalls falling like a bridal veil from the edge of a cliff. On our way to the Dynjandi Waterfall, we enjoy the breathtaking coastal vistas of jagged fjords, towering cliffs and lush rolling valleys. Upon arrival at the waterfall, we have some time to take a short hike to the base of the falls. As we make our way back to the port, we stop at a charming farm along the Dyrafjordur coastline. Here we learn about Iceland's rural life and agricultural history. We see up close the well-preserved turf houses and barns. We enjoy a traditional Icelandic treat before continuing our journey to our ship. Price $200 per person, includes a light snack.

Day 11 : Reykjavik, Iceland

July 2, 2025 (Wednesday)

Today we focus on the famous Golden Circle. The Golden Circle is the heart of Iceland's tourist activities and includes visits to three major destinations, Thingvellir National Park, Geysir Geothermal Area and the Gulfoss. Thingvellir National Park has many walking trails and provides an opportunity for you to see the power and beauty of nature. The Geysir Geothermal Area gives you an opportunity to witness the geyser errupting and to see other geothermal activity as you stroll along. The Gulfoss waterfall gives you an up close look at the power of nature. Following stops at these locations, we journey back to our cruise ship. Those who wish can be dropped off in Reykjavik's city center and make their own way back to the ship. Price: $150 per person when paying by check or ACH

Day 12 : Reykjavik, Iceland

July 3, 2025 (Thursday)

If you signed up for the post-cruise tour, we start our two-night journey to the southern coast of Iceland. If you are not joining us, make your own way to the airport and your flight home.

Headliners

Brent L. Top is Professor Emeritus of Church History & Doctrine at Brigham Young University and former Dean of Religious Education. Immediately prior to his retirement from BYU he was the Richard L. Evans Distinguished Professor of Religious Understanding at Brigham Young University. In his thirty-five years on the Religion faculty at BYU, Brent has authored or co-authored more than 20 books and numerous articles on doctrinal, scriptural, historical, and sociological. subjects. Dr. Top and his family lived in Israel when he taught Old and New Testament at the BYU Jerusalem Center for Near-Eastern Studies. He has traveled extensively in the Holy Land and has led scores of tours. Most recently, Brent served as mission president/site leader at the Mormon Battalion Historic Site in San Diego (2022-2024) and was president of the Illinois Peoria Mission (2004-2007). In both of these capacities he and his wife, Wendy were continually immersed in the people, places, and events of Latter-day Saint History. He has led several tours to those important sites where foundational events of the Restoration transpired. He is a popular speaker at BYU Campus Education Week and has often presented at BYU Women’s Conference and many other settings. He and Wendy love to travel with Bountiful Travel and from those tours have made many new life-long friends. Brent and Wendy currently live in the St. George, Utah area surrounded by red rocks and plenty of adventures.
