Cancellation Policy

  • If you cancel:Ā Deposit is non-refundable; however, it is transferable to another guest on a new booking, traveling on the same tour date. After final payment, the full amount is non-refundable. If you cancel and you can find someone to take your spot, we will refund the deposit. If we have a waiting list, we will refund your deposit by placing someone in your spot.
  • If we cancel the tour due to pandemic: Deposit is non-refundable; however, it can be transferred to any other tour or kept as a future tour credit to be used at any time on one of our advertised tours (cannot be transferred to a cruise). The balance will be refunded or applied to a future tour as a credit. If we cancel the tour for any other reason, we will refund.
  • The only way to avoid trip cancellation penalties is to buy trip cancellation insurance. If you are interested in the insurance, we can help you purchase it.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Depart from Home

May 23, 2026 (Saturday)

If you did not sign up with Bountiful Travel for Scott Esplin's Israel tour, depart from the US to Cairo.

Day 2 : Arrive in Egypt

May 24, 2026 (Sunday)

Arrive in Cairo. We will be met at the airport and driven to our hotel where we can relax and enjoy our evening on our own. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 3 : Aswan - 3-Day Nile River Cruise

May 25, 2026 (Monday)

We check out of our hotel and transfer to the airport for our flight to Aswan. We board our Nile River cruise boat which will be home for the next three nights. We visit the Philae Temple and the Unfinished Obelisk. Overnight onboard (B,L,D)

Day 4 : Kom Ombo - Edfu - Nile River Cruise

May 26, 2026 (Tuesday)

We start our cruise sailing north. Our first stop is at Kom Ombo to visit the only double temple in Egypt, which is dedicated to Horus the falcon and Sobek the crocodile. We return to the ship and continue on to Edfu. There we find the most complete temple in Egypt. Overnight onboard near Esna. (B, L, D)

Day 5 : Luxor & Karnak Temples - Valley of the Kings - Colossi of Memnon

May 27, 2026 (Wednesday)

We head to the East Bank of the Nile and go to Luxor. We see both the Karnak and the Luxor Temples. We head to the West Bank and see the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. We have some free time in Luxor for shopping, before we return to our boat for dinner. Overnight onboard. (B, L, D)

Day 6 : Fly from Luxor to Cairo

May 28, 2026 (Thursday)

We enjoy a final breakfast onboard and then we disembark. We transfer to the Luxor Airport for our flight back to Cairo. In Cairo we are transferred to our hotel and we have the evening to ourselves. Overnight in Cairo. (B)

Day 7 : Pyramids of Giza - Grand Egyptian Museum

May 29, 2026 (Friday)

Today we head to the Giza Plateau and marvel at one of the Seven Wonders of the Worlds, the Great Pyramids of Giza. We visit the Sphinx and Valley Temple. Following lunch, we go to the Grand Egyptian Museum. The museum houses the archaeological finds from the Giza area. Following these experiences, we head back to our hotel. Overnight in Cairo (B,L)

Day 8 : Alexandria

May 30, 2026 (Saturday)

We head to Alexandria an visit the Catacombs of Kom El Shuq, Pompey's Pillar, the Library and Qaitbay citadel. The Quaitbay citadel was a 15th-century defense fortress. Following an exciting day in Alexandria, we return to Cairo for our final evening. Overnight in Cairo (B)

Day 9 : Egyptian Museum - Flight back Home

May 31, 2026 (Sunday)

We enjoy breakfast at the hotel then load our luggage onto the coach. We visit the Egyptian Museum in downtown Cairo, the Alabaster mosque of Mohamed Ali and see the Khan Elkhalili bazaar. We enjoy lunch together and then we transfer to the Cairo airport for our flights back to the U.S. (B,L)

Headliners

Scott C. Esplin is a professor of Church History and Doctrine at Brigham Young University, where he has taught since 2006. A native of southern Utah, he taught seminary for six years before completing masters and doctoral degrees at BYU and joining the faculty of Religious Education. He is the author of numerous books and articles on the Doctrine and Covenants and Church history, including an award-winning book on the restoration of Nauvoo. He specializes in religious tourism, pilgrimage, and twentieth century Church history. Dr. Esplin taught for a year at the BYU Jerusalem Center and has also led study abroad groups to Latter-day Saint historic sites. He and his wife Janice are the parents of four children.
