Day 1 : Athens (Piraeus), Greece

We are offering a pre-cruise hotel & transfer which includes a half-day tour of the Athenian Riviera. (March 16-17)

Day 4 : Ephesus (Kusadasi), Turkey

March 20, 2025 (Thursday)

Today our tour takes us to one of the most impressive archaeological sites in the world, Ephesus. We tour the terrace houses that are part of the Ephesus site. We see the Odeon, the marble street where Paul held daily discussions, the Library of Celcus, the Temple of Hadrian and the great theater. We will spend several hours strolling through this site. Following this we board the bus for a quick photo stop at the Artemision or Temple of Artemis. We return to the port at Kusadasi and you have the option of remaining on land for shopping or boarding the ship and relaxing. Price: TBD

Day 5 : At Sea

Day 6 : Limassol, Cyprus

March 22, 2025 (Saturday)

Explore on your own. You might want to visit Paphos where the apostle Paul taught. Check out the Panagia Chysopolitissa Church. Explore the Paphos Odeon and the ruins of The Basilica of Panagia.

Day 7 : At Sea

Day 8 : Rhodes, Greece

March 24, 2025 (Monday)

We begin our day in Rhodes with a drive past the Mandraki Old Harbor, where according to tradition, the Colossus of Rhodes once stood. We go to the D’Amboise Gate which is the highest point of the medieval city. We follow our guide on a tour of some of the most important monuments of the old town, including: The Grand Master's Palace, the Street of the Knights, and the Ruins of Sent John Cathedral We drive by the Northern point of the island where the Mediterranean and the Aegean Sea meet. We enjoy a panoramic drive and photo stop at the Anceient Acropolis of Rhodes. We drive to Lindos where we make a photo stop at St. Paul's bay, made famous by the Guns of Navarone movie. We enjoy lunch on our own as we spend time in the village of Lindos and walk its narrow cobbled streets. Following our visit to Lindos we drive along the coastal road of Faliraki on our way back to our ship. Price: TBD

Day 9 : Heraklion (Iraklion), Crete

March 25, 2025 (Tuesday)

Today we venture to the ancient ruins of the Knossos Palace. Many myths and legends surround this Minoan ruin including that of the Labyrinth with the Minotaur. Knossos was the Minoan capital and is believed to be the oldest city in Europe. It flourished during the Hellenistic period in 67 B.C. Following our visit to Knossos Palace, we drive to the city of Heraklion. Herakalion is the current capital of Crete. We visit the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion. We enjoy time on your own to shop, eat and stroll through this history laden city. Price: TBD

Day 10 : Nafplio, Greece

March 27, 2025 (Thursday)

Today we explore the ancient city of Corinth. We see the ruins and imagine how things might have been when the Apostle Paul lived here. We gain insights as Camille & Mark share more about this incredible city. We enjoy lunch together just outside the ancient city. We see Acrocorinth and the ancient port of Kechries. Price: TBD. Lunch is included.

Day 11 : Athens (Piraeus), Greece

March 28, 2025 (Friday)

If you are joining us for our post-cruise tour, we begin the day in the heart of Athens where we visit Acropolis Hill including the Parthenon, Erechtheion, Temple of Athena Nike and more. We also see Mars Hill where Paul once preached. We have time on our own for lunch and shopping in Plaka. Plaka is a picturesque hillside village in the shadow of the Acropolis. The narrow cobblestone streets are lined with shops and cafes. We drive by other interesting sites such as the Academy of Science, Athens University and the National Library. We will go inside the Acropolis Museum and spend time taking in all of the artifacts collected there. Price: TBD All others will disembark in Athens and depart home. Arrange your own transfer to the airport.

Headliners

Camille Fronk Olson is an emeritus professor, former department chair of Ancient Scripture at BYU, and former teacher at BYU’s Jerusalem Center. She completed a PhD in Middle Eastern Studies, a master’s degree in Near Eastern Studies, and a bachelor’s degree in Education. Her research focused on women in scripture, LDS/evangelical dialogue, LDS doctrine, and Palestinian families in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Her publications include Women of the Old Testament and Women of the New Testament. Prior to coming to BYU, Sister Olson taught seminary and institute for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Salt Lake City area and served as Dean of Students at LDS Business College. She is a former member of the Young Women General Board and served a full-time mission to Toulouse, France. Camille Fronk Olson is married to Paul F. Olson. They have two children and four grandchildren. She has no cats or dogs. She is originally from Tremonton, Utah.

Mark Beecher is a dynamic teacher focused on the learner’s involvement and experience. Having taught the Old and New Testament cover to cover dozens of times, he loves the Savior and teaching about Him in an engaging, compassionate way. He tailors his teaching to the individual and brings application and humor into these sacred teaching settings that you simply can’t miss. With 35 years of extensive teaching experience in Church Education, he’s a popular instructor at BYU Education Week. He’s also the co-author of the book “Becoming a Great Gospel Teacher” and has been highlighted in the Church News and other publications. He has a master’s degree in Social Work and has taught classes for BYU-Idaho and still loves life and finds joy in the simple things. He and his wife Kim are the parents of 5 children and 10 grandchildren, with whom they adore playing on the lake.
