Join us for a 2-night pre-cruise tour in New York City.

Day 1 – October 10, 2025: Fly into JFK, LaGuardia or Newark airport and make your own way to our Midtown hotel.

Day 2 – October 11, 2025: We begin our day taking a morning ferry to Ellis Island. We see the Statue of Liberty as we sail past on our way to Ellis Island. We spend time learning and experiencing this historic immigration facility. Following our visit, we take the ferry back to Manhattan. We enjoy lunch on our own before heading to the 9/11 Memorial. We then go to Wall Street, Chinatown and Little Italy. At time permits we will see Grand Central Terminal, Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Times Square. We return to our hotel in the early evening.

Day 3 – October 12, 2025: We load our luggage on the bus and take in some of the sites on our way to sacrament meeting with a local unit. Following the meeting,  we will see a little bit of Central Park. We might have time to take a short walk in Central Park. We are dropped off at the Manhattan Cruise terminal to board our ship.

Day 1 : New York City, New York

October 12, 2025 (Sunday)

If you are not joining us on the pre-cruise tour, meet up with us onboard the ship.

Day 2 : Newport, Rhode Island

October 13, 2025 (Monday)

This morning we hop aboard our private trolley and journey back in time. We learn about the history of Newport as we drive along the Colonial downtown area. Movie fans will be excited to hear of the many films that have been filmed here. We go to Ocean Drive and see the Gilded Age mansions as we go. Our guide fills us in on the owners of these "summer cottages." We go inside the Breakers Mansion which is one of the most opulent and stunning examples of these luxury vacation homes. Price: $85 per person when paying by check

Day 3 : Boston, Massachusetts

October 14, 2025 (Tuesday)

Travel back in time as you relive events leading up to the Revolutionary War. We journey along parts of the famous Freedom Trail which include The Old North Church, The North End, where Paul Revere lived, Beacon Hill, Charlestown Navy Yard, home of the USS Constitution and so much more. As time permits, we will stop and walk a short section of the Freedom Trail. We enjoy time on our own in Faneuil Hall Marketplace where you can shop, eat or just take in the experience. We see Cambridge and pass by Harvard University, founded in 1636. We visit the battle sites of the Battlefields of Lexington and Concord. We hear the stories of those pivotal moments of the Revolutionary War and actually walk upon the battle greens. We visit Minuteman National Park and have an opportunity to see the Old North Bridge. Along the way we drive past the homes of several famous authors such as Louisa May Alcott and Ralph Waldo Emerson. Tour Price: $175 per person when paying by check.

Day 4 : Bar Harbor, Maine

October 15, 2025 (Wednesday)

Acadia National Park is a very short drive from Bar Harbor cruise port. Explore this amazing area on your own. You might hop aboard a trolley and take a tour of Acadia National Park. Enjoy the incredible granite coastline and the amazing flora and fauna. You might stop at places such as Thunder Hole, Jordan Pond and Cadillac Mountain.

Day 5 : Halifax, Nova Scotia

October 16, 2025 (Thursday)

Halifax has a rich history and we learn much as we tour this city. We stroll through the beautiful Victorian Public Garden, drive around the Citadel Fortress, pass historic homes and stop at the Titanic Cemetery. This cemetery is the final resting place for many of those who lost their lives on the Titanic. A visit to Halifax is not complete without a trip to the fishing village of Peggy's Cove. We feel the sea breeze as we stroll along the picturesque sidewalks and examine the lighthouse. We have time for lunch in a quaint fishing village and enjoy lobster rolls or seafood chowder on our own. Take a seat on the benches and enjoy the view. Price: $170 per person when paying by check

Day 6 : Saint John, New Brunswick

October 17, 2025 (Friday)

We explore St. John, a charming Victorian town. Our guide shares the history of the area and we have a chance to visit the City Market full of local vendors peddling their wares. We visit the Loyalist Burial Grounds, Kings Square and the Trinity Royal Heritage Conservation Area. If tidal times favor us, we witness the Reversing Falls, a daily tidal phenomenon that reverses the flow of the St. John River. We visit St. Martin a village founded in 1783. It is known for its fantastic clam chowder, hidden caves and breathtaking rock cliffs. We find out about some of the local marine life such as fish, whales, and seals as we stroll along the rocky shore. Price: $130 per person when paying by check

Headliners

John was born and raised in Salt Lake City, and he served his mission in the Philippines. Following his mission he attended the University of Utah, and later graduated from BYU. John has taught the Book of Mormon at Brigham Young University, and the BYU Salt Lake Center since 1996. In 2003, he earned a Master’s Degree in Religious Education. He is the author of more than two dozen books and CDs many of which, he says, are effective non-prescription sleep-aids. He loves to golf, write, read, and play the banjo and guitar. John is a founding member of the local chapter of the Andy Griffith Show Re-run Watchers Club, and does a spot-on impersonation of Deputy Sheriff Barney Fife. John has served as a bishop, and is currently serving as a member of the Young Men’s General Advisory Council (formerly known as the General Board). John and Kim’s children have served missions in France, Iceland, Tahiti and West Virginia, and another son will soon be serving in Uruguay..
