Book of Mormon Lands & Mayan Ruins – 5 Star All Inclusive Resort Tour (Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar)

Join Bountiful Travel and John Hilton this October for a Fall Break Getaway. Enjoy a relaxing all-inclusive vacation and explore the ruins of Central America. We will explore ruins such as Chichen Itza, Ek Balaam, Coba (on a bike ride) and Tulum. On the free days, we have Book of Mormon classes at the resort in the morning with John Hilton. On Sunday, we will attend Church services with a local ward. Your afternoons are free to relax by the pool, explore local cenotes (underground caves) or visit water parks nearby, such as XCaret or XPlor.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Fly from US to Cancun

October 14, 2026 (Wednesday)

Upon arrival to Cancun we transfer to our all inclusive beach hotel. This amazing 5 star resort is where we stay throughout our vacation. All food and drinks are included as well as many of the fun activities sponsored by the resort. Our resort is situated near Playa del Carmen. From our resort we take day trips to beautiful Maya ruins and optional trips to places like underground cenotes (cave snorkeling) or the theme park XPlor.

Day 2 : Tour to ruins of Tulum and Coba

October 15, 2026 (Thursday)

Today after breakfast we visit the beautiful ruins of Tulum and Coba. We travel down the coast to the ancient Mayan City of Tulum. This beautiful walled city was built on cliffs overlooking the blue-green waters of the Yucatan Caribbean. Your local LDS guide gives the history and archaeology of the site and suggests what relationship the ancient Mayas may have had to the peoples of the Book of Mormon. From Tulum, we travel deep in the Yucatan jungle to the Coba ruins. We will ride bikes through the ancient site of Coba, exploring and learning about the Mayan civilization and how it may have related to the people of the Book of Mormon. There will also be the opportunity to swim in a Cenote near Tulum. After visiting the ruins, we return to the resort in the evening.

Day 3 : Book of Mormon Seminars (Morning) – Free Day (Afternoon)

October 16, 2026 (Friday)

We will have Book of Mormon seminars in the Morning. The afternoon is free time to enjoy the resort. If you'd like, esplore some of the fun theme parks around the area - not included (we recommend XPLOR).

Day 4 : Tour to ruins of Ek Balaam, Chichen Itza & Optional Cenote swimming

October 17, 2026 (Saturday)

Today after breakfast we go to the ruins of Chichen Itza. Chichen Itza is now on the list of the 7 Wonders of the World. Erik guides you through this amazing site. Chichen Itza is deep in the jungle and dates back to 100 BC. Chichen Itza which means "at the mouth of the well of Itza," is the 2nd most visited archeological site of Mexico today. Following our tour to the ruins, we can cool off in the nearby cenote. We will then visit the amazing site of EkBalaam. Here you can climb the ruins for a majestic view of the surrounding Jungle. In the evening, we return to our resort hotel.

Day 5 : Church Services (Morning) – Book of Mormon Classes (Afternoon)

October 18, 2026 (Sunday)

We will attend Church services with a local branch in the morning. In the afternoon, we will have presentations with John Hilton on the Book of Mormon.

Day 6 : Flights home

October 19, 2026 (Monday)

After breakfast, we check out of the hotel. Flights home from the Cancun Airport. Please wait to book flights until we have confirmed our departure time from the hotel.
