Join Dave Hadlock on a Book of Mormon cruise adventure. This 8-day cruise on the amazing new Carnival ship, the Serenade of the Seas, departs out of Tampa Bay. It includes stops in Mexico and Honduras. During the days on the ship, you’ll have the opportunity to attend Book of Mormon classes taught by Dave. You will love the private tours we offer in each stop. We will visit some of the most amazing ruins that can be seen from a cruise itinerary, including Chacchoben and Tulum. Dave will help bring the scriptures to life as they teach onboard the ship and on site. Bring your family on a Book of Mormon cruise as we explore the Caribbean in this amazing new ship!

Day 1 : Depart Tampa, Florida

January 7, 2023 (Saturday)
The gorgeous city of Tampa Bay is perfect for beach seekers, outdoor enthusiasts and museum lovers alike. Its low-key beach vibe blends seamlessly with its glistening downtown atmosphere— and there’s no shortage of thrills for all ages.

Day 2 : At Sea

January 8, 2023 (Sunday)
Whether you’re onboard or onshore, family time is bound to be a fantastic time! Games, events and activities are going on all over the ship throughout the day and into the evening hours. Enjoy onboard entertainment, sports deck activities, and more as you explore everything the Serenade of the Seas has to offer.

Day 3 : Puerto Costa Maya, Mexico

January 9, 2023 (Monday)
Tulum is possibly the most beautiful of all the Mayan sites! It sits majestically on a hill overlooking the spectacular Caribbean Sea. This ancient city was more than likely a “port” where trade occurred and is as remarkable today as centuries ago. The history and beauty of this city are impressive to everyone. If you like to take pictures this site will be a favorite.

Day 5 : Roatan, Honduras

January 10, 2023 (Tuesday)
This tour takes us around the island to savor the beauty and diverse reality of Roatan. We pass several villages while our local guides tell us about their beautiful country. Our first stop is at an iguana farm. Hundreds of iguanas are raised and protected here for lucky tourists to see. This farm also offers many up-close photo opportunities with other animals such as turtles and parrots. We continue on our circle tour with a stop at a sandy beach next to a fun little village for a couple of hours of relaxing, swimming or snorkeling.

Day 6 : Belize City, Belize

January 11, 2023 (Wednesday)
Belize and its bustling cruise port city open the door to a nation ripe for exploration. Here you can choose your adventures— from trekking ancient Maya ruins to snorkeling the Belize Barrier Reef that teems with colorful fish and unforgettable coral formations. During your cruise to Belize, hike rainforest trails and take a zipline through lush treetops. Or hop on an inner tube and float through spectacular limestone caves and past tumbling waterfalls along the network of rivers flowing to the Caribbean. Divers and snorkelers come here from all over to explore the world’s second-largest barrier reef, and the famous Great Blue Hole. And along the 200-mile-long coastline, you’ll find hundreds of tiny islets called cayes (pronounced “keys”).

Day 6 : Cozumel, Mexico

January 12, 2023 (Thursday)
With its lively tropical reefs, crystal-clear waters and ancient ruins, Cozumel is ripe for one-of-a-kind adventures. Cruise to Cozumel and head to Chankanaab National Park, where you can snorkel among the colorful reefs and schools of tropical fish that give this island its premier diving status. Or travel back in time on an adventure through the towering Maya ruins of Tulum. When you’re done exploring, unwind with a beachside massage at Playa Mia. From culture savoring to soaking up sunshine, you’ll find a world of adventure waiting for you in Cozumel.

Day 7 : At Sea

January 13, 2023 (Friday)
The fun doesn’t end with a final day at sea. The Serenade of the Seas offers a variety of onboard entertainment including a rock-wall, whirlpools, and even a sports court. Take the day to play, or relax on your final day before arriving back in Tampa.

Day 8 : Return to Tampa, Florida

January 14, 2023 (Saturday)
Stroll along the Tampa Riverwalk and see where it leads you. You might explore interactive exhibits at the Tampa Bay History Center, or go stand-up paddleboarding from the Sail Pavilion. Tampa Museum of Art’s collections range from ancient to modern— and the Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park is home to splash fountains, a playground and skyline views.

Dave Hadlock
Dave has worked as a tour director to religious sites for over 16 years. He began as a contracted guide working for other LDS travel agencies while owning an export clothing business (used and vintage clothing). He enjoyed the vintage clothing business. It was kind of like prospecting for gold, only looking for old clothes. As the vintage clothing business declined, he moved into travel full time with the opening Bountiful Travel. His qualifications for religious teaching began as a missionary when he felt his soul enlarge (in the words of Alma) as he heard a master teacher of the scriptures. He wanted to be able to help others feel the same way through his teaching. He began an intense study of the scriptures as a missionary and continued after his mission working on a Master’s degree in Ancient Near Eastern Studies (Biblical Hebrew emphasis). He studies looking for unique insights into the scriptures and has worked hard at learning how to teach those insights in an interesting manner. His background in Mesoamerican studies and Ancient Near Eastern studies lends to unique insights into the scriptures. He is laid-back and loves to have fun. He loves teaching and being with people. So for him this is the ultimate job. He hopes that his love for the scriptures is contagious as he teaches. He’s taken over 100 tour groups to Central America and Israel over the last 14 years and hopes you will join him on one of his trips.
