Join Dr. John Lund & John Bytheway on a Book of Mormon cruise adventure. This 7-day cruise on the fun Carnival Legend, departs out of Tampa, Florida. It includes stops in Belize and Mexico. We will visit some of the most amazing ruins that can be seen from a cruise itinerary, including Chacchoben and Tulum. Dr. Lund & John Bytheway will help bring the scriptures to life as they teach onboard the ship and on site. Join us for a 1-night hotel stay and transfer to the cruise ship. We will be going to church with a local Tampa ward. Transfer from the cruise ship to the airport is NOT included.

Day 1 : Depart Tampa, Florida

November 10, 2024 (Sunday)

If you are part of our pre-cruise hotel group, you will be going to church before heading to the ship. Price: $159 per person when paying by check or ACH, based on double occupancy. All others can meet us on board the ship.

Day 2 : Fun Day at Sea

November 11, 2024 (Monday)

Book of Mormon Seminars during the day with Dr. Lund.

Day 3 : Cozumel, Mexico

November 12, 2024 (Tuesday)

Take in the sights of Cozumel from open-air Jeeps. We enjoy peaceful time at the San Gervasio ruins. An authentic Mexican fajita lunch is included. Water and soda are also included with our excursion. We conclude the adventure with a visit to the Sky Reef Beach Club where we enjoy snorkeling (all equipment is included) and relaxing on the beach. We then hop back in the Jeeps and return to our ship. Price per Person $95

Day 4 : Belize City, Belize

November 13, 2024 (Wednesday)

Take an exciting speedboat ride down the New River to get to the amazing Maya ruins of Lamanai. These ruins date back to the Book of Mormon time period. Climb the huge temples, search for howler monkeys or just enjoy the beautiful jungle setting. An authentic Belizean lunch will be served upon arrival to the ruins. This is a can’t-miss excursion when visiting the Western Caribbean. This tour is consistently rated very highly by our guests. Price per Person $125

Day 5 : Mahogany Bay, Roatan

November 14, 2024 (Thursday)

We begin with a short tour of the island. As we head over to the East side of the island, you learn of the island’s history and its inhabitants. You see the shipwrecks at Dixon Cove, local fishing boats at French Harbor and visit a monkey farm, where you can play with the monkeys and usually hold a sloth. We then visit West End Village where we have an authentic local lunch waiting for us at the beach. Here we spend a couple hours before heading back to the ship. You can snorkel (snorkel equipment is included and there is a nice reef just off the beach), swim or just relax. Roatan Zipline: Add a thrilling zipline adventure to your island tour. Zipline through the jungles from 13 different platforms. The zipline is located just a few minutes away from the beach. For those doing the zipline, you go to the zipline right before lunch. We then bring you back to the beach. The price is an additional $55 per person. You pay for this when you get to the zipline. $70 per person if paying by check. Lunch is included.

Day 6 : Costa Maya, Mexico

November 15, 2024 (Friday)

On this tour we enjoy the jungle setting of Chacchoben and its majestic ruins. This site existed during the late Book of Mormon times. Learn how the structures and rituals of the Maya relate to the Book of Mormon and LDS beliefs. After visiting the ruins, we travel to a little Maya village where we have the opportunity to see how the Maya lived. We enjoy an amazing, traditional Maya lunch and may even join in making the corn tortillas. The Maya experience at the village has become a favorite for many guests. Price per Person $125

Day 7 : Fun Day at Sea

Dr John L Lund has been introduced as the “Doctor of Communication” on TV in Oklahoma City and in Salt Lake City. He is the author of How to Hug A Porcupine: Dealing with Toxic and Difficult to Love Personalities, The Art of Giving and Receiving Criticism, Avoiding Emotional Divorce, Conflict Negotiation: Communication Skills Every Relationship Needs and a number of CD’s on relationships. His newest book is titled Take Your Love to Your Loved Ones and Your Frustrations to the Lord. He has served for more than thirty years as an (ADRP) Alternative Dispute Resolution Provider for the 3rd and 5th District Courts in Utah and was a registered counselor in Washington and Idaho. For eleven years he served on the Utah Governor’s Commission on Marriage as well as taught for thirty years for the BYU Education Week program and the Know Your Religion Series. He often says he has a split personality since he has extensive experience and recognition in two fields: Marriage and Family Relationships and as a scholar of the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. He is the author of Mesoamerica and the Book of Mormon: Is This the Place?, and Joseph Smith and the Geography of the Book of Mormon. He is a retired Institute Teacher and has served in various Church callings including twice as a bishop and as a member of a stake presidency. Dr. Lund has lectured in more than 57 different countries and continues to be an avid student of history. He and his wife, Bonnie, are the parents of eight children and grandparents of 23 grandchildren.

John was born and raised in Salt Lake City, and he served his mission in the Philippines. Following his mission he attended the University of Utah, and later graduated from BYU. John has taught the Book of Mormon at Brigham Young University, and the BYU Salt Lake Center since 1996. In 2003, he earned a Master’s Degree in Religious Education. He is the author of more than two dozen books and CDs many of which, he says, are effective non-prescription sleep-aids. He loves to golf, write, read, and play the banjo and guitar. John is a founding member of the local chapter of the Andy Griffith Show Re-run Watchers Club, and does a spot-on impersonation of Deputy Sheriff Barney Fife. John was recently released as bishop of the Salt Lake Winder 10th Ward, and is now teaching Sunday School with his wife, Kim. John and Kim have six children and a completely full SUV which doubles in value when it’s full of gasoline.
