Join Donald Parry and Kevin Hinckley for the ultimate Journeys of Paul cruise. This is an amazing itinerary on an amazing, brand new ship. Enjoy the village of Mykonos and the quaint windmills. Stroll the streets of Ephesus and truly walk where Paul would have walked. Explore the highlights of Limassol, the second largest city on the island and its medieval castle, a former crusader stronghold. Wander the narrow cobblestone streets of the breathtaking villages of Oia and Fira in Santorini. Visit the charming town of Chania with its Venetian and Turkish monuments and see traditional stone houses, picturesque villages and a fine Folk Art Museum in the surrounding villages. Day 1 – May 2, 2024: Depart the U.S. on your flight to Rome (FCO).

Day 2 – May 3, 2024: Arrive in Rome and take the hotel shuttle to the hotel. Based on which endowment session is reserved, we are picked up from our hotel and taken to the Rome, Italy temple. Everyone in the group explores the Visitors’ Center and temple grounds. If you wish to participate in an endowment session or other ordinances, you will need to make your own reservations with the temple. We are offering transportation for the 3:00pm & 5:30pm sessions. Please let us know what time you have reserved.

Day 3 – May 4, 2024: Our “Highlights of Rome” tour takes us to the Vatican City Museum, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. We see many other important sites as we stroll along including the famous Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. An authentic Italian dinner is included.

Day 4 – May 5, 2024: Today we load our luggage on the bus and head to the Colosseum and the Catacombs.  The Roman Colosseum is located in the heart of Rome. It is the largest ancient amphitheater ever built and is still the largest standing. The Catacombs of Rome are underground burial places sprinkled all around the city. Today we only enter one of the many. Following our visit we board our bus for transport to our cruise ship.

May 7, 2024 (Tuesday)

Our adventure on Crete takes us to the White Mountains. We embark on a safari tour aboard premium off-road vehicles. The driver tells us all about the area as we journey to the White Mountains. We visit Therissos a traditional Cretan village and learn about the lifestyle of the Cretan shepherd. Our educational experience includes stepping inside an original shepherd's hut. We enjoy a traditional Greek lunch together in the village. We return to Chania and have time on our own to explore the old city. $110 per person if paying by check, lunch included.

Day 5 : Mykonos, Greece

May 8, 2024 (Wednesday)

We board a boat that takes us to the ruins of the archaelogical site of Delos. Delos is located on Delos Island which is an uninhabited Greek Isle. We have a guided walking tour of the ruins with some time to explore on our own. Delos is the mythical birthplace of Apollo. It was a major religious center as well. We see ancient Doric temples, mosaics, and an amphitheater. If the museum has completed its renovations, we can see many of the artifacts excavated from the site. We return back to the port of Mykonos. For those who wish there is time to explore Mykonos on your own or you can get back on the ship and relax. In Mykonos, you can grab a bite to eat, shop and enjoy the windmills from up close. $85 per person if paying by check or ACH.

Day 6 : Ephesus (Kusadasi), Turkey

May 9, 2024 (Thursday)

Our tour takes us to one of the most impressive archaeological sites in the world, Ephesus. We tour the terrace houses that are part of the Ephesus site. We see the Odeon, the marble street where Paul held daily discussions, the Library of Celcus, the Temple of Hadrian and the great theater. We spend several hours strolling through this site. Following this we board the bus for a quick photo stop at the Artemision or Temple of Artemis. We return to the port at Kusadasi and you have the option of remaining on land for shopping or boarding the ship and relaxing. Price: TBD

Day 8 : Rhodes, Greece

May 12, 2024 (Sunday)

We begin our day in Rhodes with a drive past the Mandraki Old Harbor, where according to tradition, the Colossus of Rhodes once stood. We drive by the Northern point of the island where the Mediterranean and the Aegean Sea meet. We enjoy a panoramic drive and photo stop at the Ancient Acropolis of Rhodes. We drive to Lindos where we make a photo stop at St. Paul's bay, made famous by the Guns of Navarone movie. We spend time in the village of Lindos and have time on our own to hike to the Acropolis of Lindos, for an additional fee, to shop and to grab lunch. Following our visit to Lindos we drive along the coastal road of Faliraki. We arrive in Rhodes and go to the D'Amboise Gate which is the highest point of the medieval city. We follow our guide on a tour of some of the most important monuments of the old town, including: The Grand Master's Palace, the Street of the Knights, and the Ruins of Sent John Cathedral. We then return to our ship. $85 per person if paying by check.

Day 9 : Santorini, Greece

May 13, 2024 (Monday)

We are picked up from the old port of Fira where we take a water taxi to Athinios port and our bus. We enjoy a guided walk through the quiet, picturesque village of Magalochori. Following our visit we drive to Profitis Ilias. the highest point on the island, for a scenic photo stop. Our next stop takes us to the Monolithos Black Beach (no swimming) where we have a short time to enjoy the water and beach. We then journey to Oia, the northern most village where we see the classic blue domed buildings, the ruins of a Venetian castle and admire the breathtaking view over the caldera. We have time on our own to explore or eat. We take in any sights we might have missed as we enjoy the journey back to the port. $95 per person if paying by check.

Day 10 : Athens (Piraeus), Greece

May 14, 2024 (Tuesday)

We start our exciting day with a one-hour scenic bus ride to visit ancient Corinth where Paul arrived in 51 AD. We take a look at the Corinth Canal and enjoy lunch featuring authentic Greek cuisine. We then head back to Athens where we visit Acropolis Hill including the Parthenon, Erechteion, Temple of Athena Nike and more. We also see Mars Hill where Paul once preached. We drive by other interesting sites as we make our way back to our ship. $130 per person if paying by check. Lunch is included.

We head to the ancient city of Pompeii. We spend some time strolling through the ancient ruins as our guide shares details about the lives' of the residents before the great eruption. We have an opportunity to view the somber and incredible plaster casts of some of the victims of the Mt. Vesuvius eruption. Mt. Vesuvius can be seen from Pompeii. Our tour continues with a scenic drive through the beautiful countryside along a coastal road on the Amalfi Coast. After about an hour we arrive at the wonderful town of Sorrento. Here you enjoy some free time to shop, eat or just enjoy the picturesque views of Sorrento. We then return to the ship. $140 per person if paying by check.

Donald is Professor of Hebrew Bible and the Dead Sea Scrolls. He taught for many years at the Jerusalem Center. He is married to Camille Mills, from Las Vegas, Nevada; they have six children. Donald is a member of the International Team of Translators of the Dead Sea Scrolls (He has worked translating the Dead Sea Scrolls of Isaiah, 1 & 2 Samuel, and others). Don has directed over 25 different tour groups with Bountiful Travel, taking groups into the Holy Lands and the lands of the Book of Mormon. He has authored or edited 44 books including: Understanding Isaiah, Temples of the Ancient World, Visualizing Isaiah, Angels: Agents of Light, Love, and Power and 175 Temple Symbols and Their Meanings, and other books on the Old Testament, Book of Mormon, and Dead Sea Scrolls. He is a popular Education Week speaker. He has a wonderful sense of humor and a is personable host to our groups. His scriptural knowledge is extensive and he is fascinated with old cars. You will love traveling with Don.

Kevin Hinckley is a professional Counselor. He has written six books, including Promptings or Me, Burying Our Swords and the Husband Whisperer. He is a regular presenter at BYU Campus Education Week. He also regularly leads tours to Book of Mormon Lands. He teaches an adult Institute Class every Monday morning to a full chapel in Plano Texas. Kevin is a graduate of BYU and maintains a busy private counseling practice, focused on the needs of LDS clients. He is a proud smokemaster, spending his free time grilling and cooking. Kevin and Cindy are the parents of four kids and 12 grandkids and one really obnoxious cat. You will love traveling with Kevin and getting to know him and his wife, Cindy.
