This is a great time of year to cruise to the Caribbean with a great itinerary and will allow you to visit some of the most amazing ruins that can be seen from a cruise itinerary, including Lamanai, Chaccoben and Tulum. Dave and Don will help bring the scriptures to life as they teach onboard the ship and on site. Dave has been taking groups to Mesoamerica for many years. His presentations will give you insight not only into the Maya civilization, but they will also bring new light to the Book of Mormon and Old Testament. ms-norwegian-spirit.jpgNorwegian Dawn: Norwegian Dawn debuted in 2002 as the third ship in the NCL fleet to be designed to accommodate its Freestyle Crusing concept. Dawn is an intriguing blend of the best features of a cruise experience and a land resort. There’s the excitement of a new port most every day (and the lovely relaxation of a couple of days at sea). And yet there’s a wonderful atmosphere of casual flexibility, emanating in a large part from the ship’s selection of some 10 restaurants. NCL’s freestyle dining works great with our groups allowing us to move around and meet different people every night.

Shore Excursions: We offer great excursions for a great price!

Roatan Island Tour: This will be a relaxing day to tour the beautiful island of Roatan. After visiting the sites on Roatan, we will go to the beach where we will have a delicious lunch. Following some free time on the beach, we will return to the ship. ($55 – $5 cash discount) For those who would like, you can also add on the thrill of a zipline at this port stop. 12 stations and beautiful views make this a fun zipline (additional $45).

lamanai_high_temple_sml.jpgLamanai Ruins: Take an exciting speedboat ride down the New River to get to the amazing Maya ruins of Lamanai. These ruins date back to the Book of Mormon time period. Climb the huge temples, search for howler monkeys or just enjoy the beautiful jungle setting. If you are taking a cruise to the Western Caribbean, this is a can’t-miss excursion. This tour is consistently rated a favorite by our guests ($115 – $5 Cash Discount).

tulum.jpgTulum Ruins: From Cozumel see one of the most famous and beautiful of the Maya sites. Tulum sits atop a cliff overlooking the ocean–the setting is surreal. This excursion may allow for some free time to shop or swim in the ocean at the bottom of the ruins for those who would like($105 — $5 Cash Discount).

chacchoben_tourChacchoben Ruins: This side-tour from the port of Costa Maya will allow you to enjoy the peaceful site of Chacchoben. You will enjoy the jungle setting of Chacchoben and its majestic ruins. This site is a late Book of Mormon time site. Learn how the structures and rituals of the Maya relate to the Book of Mormon and LDS beliefs. After visiting the ruins, we will head to a little Maya village where we will have the opportunity to see how the Maya lived and make corn tortillas. We’ll have a Maya lunch before returning to the ship. If time permits, we will stop by Majajhual for beach and shopping time ($110 — $5 cash discount).

All Shore Excursions are optional and may be purchased separate from the cruise rate.
