Royal Carribean Rhapsody of the Seas –
Introduced in 1997 and last refurbished in 2016, Rhapsody of the Seas lacks some of the flashier hallmarks of most Royal Caribbean ships. However, you’ll still find a rock climbing wall and an LED poolside movie screen. Plus, with the capacity to transport 2,416 guests and 765 crew members, the ship offers a moderate 1-to-3 crew-to-passenger ratio.
What’s more, cruisers were particularly impressed with the service, especially in the accommodations. Speaking of lodging, about 60 percent of staterooms feature ocean views. Interior cabins range from 136 to 256 square feet while the largest suites spans more than 1,000 square feet.
Shore Excursions: We offer great excursions for a great price – Cruise rate does not include excursions!
Roatan Island Tour: This will be a relaxing day to tour the beautiful island of Roatan. After visiting the sites on Roatan (including a fun stop by the Iguana farm), we will go to the beach where we will have a delicious lunch. Snorkel gear is included in the cost of the tour for those who would like to snorkel on the reef. It is a great place to snorkel. Following some free time on the beach, we will return to the ship. For those who would like, you can also add on the thrill of a zipline at this port stop. 12 stations and beautiful views make this a fun zipline. $70 – Zip line is an additional cost.
Lamanai Ruins: Take an exciting speedboat ride down the New River to get to the amazing Maya ruins of Lamanai. These ruins date back the Book of Mormon time period. Climb the huge temples, search for howler monkeys or just enjoy the beautiful jungle setting. If you are taking a cruise to the Western Caribbean, this is a can’t-miss excursion. This tour is consistently rated a very highly by our guests. $120
Costa Maya: Ruins of Chacchoben and Maya Village Experience: This side-tour from the port of Costa Maya will allow you to enjoy the peaceful site of Chacchoben. You will enjoy the jungle setting of Chacchoben and its majestic ruins. This site is a late Book of Mormon time site. Learn how the structures and rituals of the Maya relate to the Book of Mormon and LDS beliefs. After visiting the ruins, we will head to a little Maya village where we will have the opportunity to see how the Maya lived and make corn tortillas. The Maya experience at the village has become a favorite for many guests. We’ll have a Maya lunch before returning to the ship. ($120).
Tulum Ruins: From Cozumel see one of the most famous and beautiful of the Maya sites. Tulum sits atop a cliff overlooking the ocean–the setting is surreal. This excursion may allow for some free time to shop or swim in the ocean at the bottom of the ruins for those who would like. $120.
All Shore Excursions are optional and may be purchased separate from the cruise rate. Our tours are private for our LDS group and separate from the ships excursions.
